Dates on a Dime!

Dates on a Dime!
Not my cute title, it's a little book I bought and I'm going to skim through it to find some cute CHEAP date ideas. Shaw's family gets here in like 8 days so that means we have 8 days of free babysitting! ;) I just figured I'd share! (I know everyone is super antsy to see some new house pictures-don't worry I will sit down and blog about our new place in detail when things are less crazy!!!)

1. "Search out local attractions you don't already know about (EX: planetariums, arboretums, walking trails, etc...) Have fun discovering together!" This would be good for us in a new town! The museums on base are usually free...
2. "Most cities and neighborhoods offer inexpensive and fun festivals. Google "festivals" and your city's name for ideas and schedules." Would be fun to do with PK too.
3. "Compete with each other at the miniature gold course or driving range. Winner buys post game refreshments!"
4. "Split an entree at your favorite local restaurant." This is a good way to eat out without breaking the bank!
5. "Test drive your fantasy car together!"
6. "Use sidewalk chalk to declare your love: When you stroll through town or down a paved trail leave a testament of your love by etching your initials into a heart with an arrow through it. As you make your way home on this same path stop and kiss at each marker you've created!"  Silly but cute!
7. "Sign up and take a free class at the local home improvement or garden store then apply your new skills at home!"
8. "Bring a bag of ready-to-light charcoal briquettes and matches to a local campsite or park. Use it to fuel and evening of snuggling and cozy chatting."  Add some smores, a container of hot apple cider, and a boom box and this is my favorite idea so far!
9. "Check your Sunday paper for a listing of open houses. As you visit each one, note your favorite features as idea starters for future home improvements.
10. "Volunteer to do an elderly person's yardwork. Sometimes reaching out to others can bring you together like nothing else." :)

  1. Cute! I may steal some of these for myself when Austin gets home on R&R!! (Though as someone who works in the car business I veto #5... Nothing is more annoying to a sales person who is only paid on commission than a person coming in and taking up time in a day when they could be working with someone who's really in the market)
